Window Views #10

I did a little photo editing on my photographs for Window Views today.

This post was supposed to go up at 6 AM. Blogger didn't do it! Bah! But here it is now!

Photobucket

Photobucket

I used the Dry Brush in Adobe Photoshop to give a watercolor, painterly effect to the photo on top. I treated the second photo to Film Grain.

I'm eager to see your windows this week. Feel free to try the Dry Brush technique on your posts.

Don't forget to sign Mr. Linky, leave a comment and visit other participants.

If you are new to Window Views let us know and we'll make every effort to visit you!

How kewl ... I'm 1st ;--)
I love the Dry Brush filtered effect on your first photo and Film Grain on the second. I've enjoyed playing with various filters too and am gradually learning what works best with different types of photos ... in fact I used various filters on this week's windows again ... 'cutouts' and 'poster edges' ;--)
Hugs and blessings,

Very cool, they really look like paintings.

It took me a long time to get used to the idea of "adding" film grain because I shot film exclusively until a couple of years ago and I was always trying to get rid of the grain! But it does have its uses. Especially with older subjects.

Mary, nice shot of that cross-hatch window, in among the beams. I like the Tudor style. And I'll don't do much experimenting with the pics, but this other one looks kinda cool! I posted way early, ere you had Mr. Linky up, tho'!

look like you have framed a watercolor painting, very nice editing.
This is my first time paying.
Hope you like my window view.

I like your use of techniques. I have soccer game I would like to put online, and sometimes using those techniques blurs the players, so people won't be as recognizable.

Both of these worked well.

That first photo looks like a watercolor, delightful. And the second, a wonderful Tudor window...even if it's not reminds me of all the novels I've read about the Tudor period. Associations huh!

I am trying to get around to everyone, but I am feeling very average at the moment with this flu. :)

I love the effect. I don't have access to photo-shop but have used other photo packages to create such an effect, and love them. Part of the enjoyment is messing about and discovering what I can do - the end product is a bonus!

I love the subject matter of your photo too - very pleasant.

I just love this meme. Taking pictures of windows is one of the things I love to do. This week I have a bunch from my recent trip to Ireland.

I love 'dry brush' too, Mary. I haven't used it in a while - the photo software that came with my laptop has the best 'dry brush' effect but since I've been doing most of my photo-editing online with Picnik/Flickr, I haven't used the laptop program much.
Anyway, there are two pics with windows in 'em up at It's A Blog Eat Blog World today ~ one of them is a magnificent picture of the window above the main entrance of Westminster Abbey.
Hope you pop over and check it out, and the other pic, too!
Cheers,
Mo
